Hawaii Foliage Exports, Inc. named Hawaii Exporter of the Year      
 
Hawaii Governor Benjamin Cayetano announced the 2001 Governor’s Exporter of the Year, Hawaii Foliage Exports, Inc.  In addition to the top honor, the company also won the award for top Exporter of Fresh Commodities, and was among six other firms honored for outstanding achievements in exporting of Hawaii products and services. Success in exporting combined with a solid commitment for expansion and growth in Hawaii contributed to the selection of Hawaii Foliage Exports as the overall winner.
 
Hawaii Foliage Exports grows and markets tropical plants under the Perfectly HawaiianTM brand for use exclusively in the commercial interior landscape industry. Patrick McGrath founded the company in 1987, which has grown to four locations in Hilo, on the Big Island of Hawaii.  The nursery specializes in Dracaena varieties, Rhapis and Caryota, and is well-known for its cut-back Dracaena Janet Craig, Hilo GirlTM and more.
